Nate, Charles and Alex started Wary Canary because choosing privacy in our daily lives needs to be less intimidating, complicated and time-consuming. We recognize the direct connection between robust privacy protections and our ability and willingness to participate and contribute to a democratic society. When privacy erodes, so does autonomy.  

Our shared motivation led to brainstorming and imagining a future where our privacy is valued and respected. Peace through privacy. As we’ve shared this vision and ambition with fellow creatives and engineers, we have expanded our collaborators and our scope. With their contributions, we’re excited to launch our Kickstarter and share our first privacy-conscious products with our communities. 

We’re guided by a commitment to community, sustainable U.S. manufacturing, and the conviction that privacy allows creativity, connection, and freedom to thrive. Like the canary in the coal mine, our brand exists as an early warning and a safeguard—helping people choose when and how they wish to be seen.
